Ghost In Photgraphy

We started off by opening up a power point showing a step by step tutorial on how to create your ghostly image. But first i got my background and the scariest thing known to man and pasted them on separate layers, afterwards we were told to desaturate our picture of the sheep and to blur it using guassian blur. After we used opacity to finalize our ghostly figure.

memory check

Memory check – a recap of things we have covered so far
Q1. What is ISO and what does it effect?
Ans: ISO controls the detail that is contained, lower the better the HD
Q2. When would we use the ‘P’ control setting on the camera mode dial.
Ans: Program, it automatically sets the speed and aperture
Q3. Name two important consideration when attaching the tripod base-plate to the bottom of camera?
Ans: You don’t screw it into to hard or it will damage the camera and, don’t put it on loose so the camera falls, line up arrows with the camera.
Q4. Name three important considerations when using a red-head lighting kit?
1.Don’t touch the barn doors
2.Wait for light too cool down before moving it
3.Try not to trip over the light stand
Q5. When focusing the camera, what do we place on the object/subject to ensure it is the center of focus?
Ans: A green box comes up
Q6. Name two techniques we can use to adjust the brightness and contrast of a photograph?

Ans: Gentle pressing of the shutter button half down and adding more light by controlling speed.

Evaluation for the magazine advert

Evaluation for the magazine advert

During my course we had to produce an advert advertising any product of our choice using photos we have taken so I decided to use a Coco-Cola can for my product and created a unique advert with it. I chose an underwater theme to hence thirst and quenching it when you drink Coco-Cola, to make it a lot more unique I added a blurred out shark in the back ground attacking a scuba-diving Coco-Cola can.

My research for the advertisement consisted at look at other adverts by Coco-Cola and create different looking advert from the rest with my own twist which I did with the underwater and shark background this will make it stand out from the rest and people will look at this advert as something cool and exciting instead of their boring original advert of the product.

As I’ve never used Photoshop before it was completely new for me, we were taught things in a couple of seconds so I’ve learnt a lot with Owen he taught us how to crop images how to create ghostly images and all sorts of cool and unique things.

I’m happy with my final piece as it’s was my first piece of work using Photoshop and in my eyes is pretty good and will be marked. If there was anything id change about is to prioritise me so it would be better as I’ll put more care into perfecting my product

Evaluation for Video Advert

Evaluation for Video Advert

In this project we had to produce a Video advert of a product we designed or of an existing product of choice, in my group I was with Pelle and Emma, our idea/product was a cola flavored drink name Dark Skulls, this product was a new Coco-Cola inspired drink i believe the name dark skulls would allow us to explore a wide range of Freak or Unique ideas and each of us created our own label design showing how different the ideas are and how the outcome will be unique and freaky.
at the beginning we had to find other adverts to see and judge there use of sound camera angles and lighting to give us and understanding of why the used that specific skill. Afterwards we looked at adverts similar to our products of choice such as my Coco-Cola drink. This helped us have in mind what it takes to advertise our product, for the Cola idea it showed a lot of people partying and dancing and having fun but that doesn’t scream freak or unique so we went for a more olden times horror movie with the subtle ghost under bed, this idea came to us was a joint effort and we thought would make a brilliant advert. Ghost chases girls, girl finds drink and turns into what is known as dark skulls and scares the ghost away.

I believed learned a lot of skills during my time film due to me being the cameraman and director/organiser which allowed me to use techniques i never knew existed and to use some skill i already knew, and thanks to the wonderful helpers of Pelle and Emma we were able to create a Unique and interesting. Although it felt like i did majority of the work i wouldn’t of been able to create something nearly as good without the help of them, they had ideas i implemented them and we worked around it, even if we did mess up drinking of the can scene, multiple times.

I personally am happy on how my first advertisement went, with the feedback from Merissa and the fast pace our group worked at i can’t help but feel proud of what i achieved and what we achieved as a group. Well done all!.

If there was one thing i could do differently would be the planning of the video as i felt it was rather sloppy and a glue stick could piece our work better than we could. Id like for next time to plan out thoroughly what’s happening and at what scene and maybe have a bit more rehearsal and filming.

Photography Evaluation

Photography Evaluation

For this project we were asked to bring in items from our house hold to photograph, which wasn't actually what we had to do and what were supposed to do was bring in freaky object to photograph instead, first project, mistakes happen, the idea was to take the photos a mash them into one big creepy photo using Photoshop to make it look freaky or unique.

The first set of work that was given to us was to research freaky images using Photoshop like making an apple with a booty and hands with people and all sort of crazy and unique designs and to save these images. The reason for it was to help give us inspiration and ideas to create our own weird creations.

I learnt a lot of camera skills during this project and such as different camera shots such as: Viewpoint, leading lines and patterns. We also taught SPAM or more likely know as Speed, Program, Aperture and Manual, we hand drew a sketched diagram of a camera and labelled all the gimmicks it has to offer.

The idea that I was going for in my work is merging a can drink of some sort into an animal by taking a photo of a coco-cola can and a picture of a teddy and merging them to gather to create my unique looking animal. The idea was there but the commitment was applicable and I was not able to bring in a soft toy and or animal.

If I could change one thing about my project it would most definable be the items i brought in, due to constant confusion during photography it found it hard to understand what exactly we had to do so I fetched some random supplies and decided to take pictures of them which ended up being my down fall

All in all I wasn't particularly happy with my end result i feel like photography isn't me strong suit even if it doesn't take much point and click the editing that needs to be don't to the photo just seems too difficult and inconvenient to me.

Proposal

                                   Proposal
Props
For the project the props that I will bring in involve a mask of a scary looking skull this will add the scary element to my advert and hopefully done well. I will also bring in a Coca-Cola can due to my video advertisement is to do with drinks. I like train so I may end up bringing one along.

Equipment
The equipment I will be needing is a camera to take pictures of what my props are. I am required to bring in my SD card to capture the picture from the camera and straight to my card. I will also need a tripod to allow my camera sit for a still image. I need a white piece of paper and a back board to create a white back ground for my image to rest on. I need a light stand to rest the red head lamp on top to light up the white paper and our object.

Location
The location of where I am taking my photos will be at the studio I work at, the timing will allow for optimum lighting and temperature. The problems about the studio is there are a lot of people going in and out that might disrupt my image and I have to take the picture when there the best lighting.

Photographic Considerations
I will need to take into account the time of day which i take my pictures because if I leave it too late the lighting in the room won’t be as bright as I want it. Another consideration is the lighting as I’ll need to correctly position.

Editing Techniques
For the editing skills I will be using Photoshop editing using curve tools and level tools to create a brighter and more HD photograph. Ill also render the pictures in 300ppi.

What obstacles you might face
Some of the obstacles i might face during my time photographing is weather outside i have to look out for if i am outside i will also have to look out for hazards that may harm the camera because no camera means no photos and no photo means i no pass :(, tripping and falling over chairs could be hazardous while also having the heat from the lamp burning me and the infinity paper. The lamp will need to cool down before moving so the copper doesn't break during the movement process.
